Two best mates, one idea…
Early one morning way back in the late ’90s, Kym & Matt were enjoying a surf session together in their beautiful hometown of Byron Bay. While sitting out the back waiting for the next wave (!) the chats turned (again) toward this new Internet thing that had recently come out of nowhere.
They were trying to hack together a website for Kym’s little family-run Motel, which was just over the road from where they were surfing. It was going to be one of the first business websites to go online in the region, if only they could figure out a few technical issues…
Oh, yes it was an exciting time indeed to be a surfer and a nerd! There weren’t that many of them back then. Certainly not in Byron Bay at that time. An opportunity seemed to have also presented itself. Could the boys quickly learn enough about this website stuff and perhaps turn their new hobby into some cash by designing websites for other local businesses?
Surely all businesses would one day need a website?
The idea was hatched.
As far as ideas go, it turned out to be a good one.
